We were absolutely thrilled to be one of eight finalists for the ‘Advisory Firm of The Year’ award at the recent Gap Reunion Awards.
The Gap provides business advisory coaching to over 500 accountancy firms across New Zealand, Australia and the UK, and we’ve been building on our advisory skills as part of The Gap community since 2018.
Congratulations to fellow accountancy and business advisory firm Bizdom who took out the win this year. Bizdom’s Director, Mark Greer, is also our business coach so we’re in good hands to have another shot at first place next year!
The awards ceremony followed a two-day conference that the full Robertson Bixley team went along to.
While our Directors – Fono, Rodney and Nick – have been attending these conferences regularly for some time, it proved worthwhile to have the whole team come along to better understand the value of business advisory for our clients.
Topics explored included the importance of human connection as AI and robotic assisted automation takes hold, as well as a range of sessions aimed to further build on our advisory skills.
Our very own, Amy Posthuma was part of the ‘Emerging Leaders’ panel and spoke about the importance of accountants diversifying their skillsets and ceasing the opportunity to step into business advisory roles.
In true Amy fashion, she added in a bit of her quick wit, which certainly got the audience laughing. Well done Amy!
